Minor adjustments, setpping out on a guy are one thing, but when it comes to changing game plan and making sure a team can't beat us the entire game with the same play? It's a known issue.

I'll take some issue on the player development side. With the guards I woud agree with you to a point, but I think we've seen significant development from the forwards under Bru/Connors. Going back to Battle, Brooks, even Daryl McCoy defensively, Samme at al, they've advanced bigs throughout their tenure here. It simply takes more time than they have this year.Dan Crainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00106671068021876267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4760880858311141488.post-62418831645267089302015-02-17T17:13:02.420-05:002015-02-17T17:13:02.420-05:00Interesting part about how long we've tolerate...Interesting part about how long we've tolerated bruiser is we've seen him try to adapt. Started out wanting to run and gun...opponents adjusted and got back on d. Wanted to pound inside...well of big men ran dry. Slowed games down when talent overall went down. Went guard oriented...they kept getting hurt.

Problem is none of these "adjustments" ever worked. You mentioned it takes longer to develop big men. We don't develop anybody...or at least not enough to say Crawford/mason/givens are the rule and Rodgers/Hawthorne/colds/Harris are the exception. Coaches st this level must develop their talent and this staff can't do it.

Bruiser also can't adapt on the fly. Change is glacial. We should have 3 and 4 guard lineups in our back pocket every game. Throw it out there to see if it works...like a zone or any other defense...and bury it if it gets carved up. It doesn't have to be a full shift in how you play. Bruiser can't think in the heat of a game and only gets away with it because he's at a school like drexel that doesn't know any better.natehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00803811413300579920noreply@blogger.com
